English Reading Guide

Browser translation steps

DTM Digest publishes original articles in Japanese. This page explains how to use browser translation in Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox so you can read the site in English.

For official wording, legal interpretation, or the latest update status, open the original source link shown in each article.

Before you start

1. The site does not force translation

A website cannot reliably start browser translation for you. Translation begins with your browser controls and your own action.

2. English Mode changes the UI, not the article text

English Mode changes shared UI labels such as navigation and buttons. Article content, trust information, and source text remain Japanese.

3. Always keep the original source in view

Original source links and trust information stay visible on article pages. Do not make final decisions from translated text alone.

Basic steps in Chrome Desktop

  1. Open the homepage or any article page.
  2. Select the translate icon in the address bar, or right-click the page and choose translation.
  3. Choose English as the target language.
  4. If your browser offers options such as Always translate or Automatically translate Japanese, enable them if you want translation to stay on.

Browser notes

Chrome Desktop / Edge Desktop

These are the easiest browsers to guide. Full-page translation, right-click translation, address-bar controls, and always-translate settings are usually available.

Safari

Safari uses Apple’s built-in translation controls. Look for translation near the address bar and use Always Translate for Japanese if your device offers it.

Firefox

Translation availability may vary. Treat Firefox as best-effort support.

Chrome Android / Chrome iOS

Mobile browsers use different UI from desktop. Chrome on iOS also follows WebKit restrictions, so treat it as closer to Safari than desktop Chrome.

  • Firefox translation support may not be available on every device or browser version.
  • If you need an official or up-to-date confirmation, use the original source link inside the article.
